A Little Bit About my Setting
Thank you for considering me and my setting.
Myself and my husband are originally from South Africa. We have been settled in London since 2006 -
mainly in Southfields and Wimbledon Park - we love the area!
I have been enjoying Childminding since December 2007. Prior to this I worked largely in the financial sector within the Human Resources and Marketing
departments.
We have been blessed with two gorgeous sons - the eldest born April 2007 and the youngest in March 2009. We also have three pet cats.
We go out every day and regularly attend our Registered Childminders Playgroup, Soft play centres and visit various parks and playgrounds.
Activities at home are planned according to the children's interests and developmental stage and their progress is carefully monitored.

ICP (Introduction to
Childcare Practice)
Paediatric First Aid
Certificate
Level 2 Award in Food
Hygiene for Catering
Safeguarding Children
Health & Safety and Risk
Assessment
Observation Writing for
Childminders
Working in Partnership with
Parents
Working with Boys
I have an up to date First Aid
Certificate.
I will only administer
medication or treatment to
children if it has been
discussed with the parents or
carers and prior written
consent has been given.
This is in case your child has
any allergies that I am not
aware of.
Some of the safety aspects
that I have put in place
include locks on cupboards
and drawers, socket covers
on unused plug points, a
fitted fire alarm and fire
blanket in the kitchen.
I always carry a first aid kit
with me when out and about
and I have emergency
procedures and policies in
place.
The Curriculum
My aim is to help children be ‘nursery ready’ by the time they leave the setting. This readiness encompasses a range of developmental areas, including social-emotional, physical, and cognitive skills. There is also a strong focus on communication and language in the setting - this is because the development of children’s spoken language underpins all seven areas of learning and development.What does Ofsted say?
